The gynostemma plant is a type of vine that is native to southern China and other parts of Asia. Gynostemma pentaphyllum, also called jiaogulan, 'miracle grass', makino, and southern ginseng, is an herb and type of tea you might come across if you are looking for natural remedies to help lift your energy.
Gynostemma is a type of leaf that can be eaten as food, brewed to make herbal tea or used to make extracts. The leaves are sometimes added to salads or dried and ground and used in different recipes.
Brewing Guidelines :
Teaware: 12 oz glass, cup, or porcelain pot
Amount: 2.5 Tbs (5g)
Water: 100°C (212ºF) filtered water
Infusion: 1st infusion at least 2 minutes. This herbal tea is good for 2 infusions.
Increase the steeping time 30 seconds to one minute for each infusion. How many infusions you do depends entirely on your taste.
When made into tea, this type of herbal tea is naturally caffeine-free.
